Boy Scouts Sean Weinperl of Highlands and Ethan Bennett of Middletown received their Eagle Scout awards in a formal ceremony last week at Community Fire House in Navesink.
The two members of Boy Scout Troop 22 received the awards, the highest in Boy Scouting, during the traditional Court of Honor led by Scoutmaster Dr. Michael Marchetti.

Highlands Mayor Carolyn Broullon also attended the ceremony, congratulating both scouts and lauding them for their outstanding work in achieving the award. She read the letter she had written to Highlands resident Scout Sean Weinperl expressing her personal and the gratitude of the borough him for the project he chose to enhance the borough beach for the borough. Broullon also presented a letter from Congressman Frank Pallone congratulating the scouts on the honors.
The scout also received certificates from Chief Joseph McCarron from the Navesink Fire Company. Chief McCarron is also chaplain for Troop 22.
