Atlantic Highlands getting a "Drive In"

Atlantic Highlands, Saturday, Aug. 28: Make it a point to put “Beetlejuice” on your calendar! That’s the film that will be shown at the Atlantic Highlands “Drive-In “, aka the Municipal Yacht Harbor, beginning at 8:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to bring a blanket or your chair and join the fun, and check out special meal deals at Kunya Siam, Julio's, Towne Diner, or Monty's BBQ and dine while you watch! If your restaurant offers delivery, we'll have a DELIVERY DROP-OFF STATION so they can TEXT you when they've arrived with your meal The movies are free, but you can donate a suggested $10 per group to help defray costs to the borough at (search: "Atlantic Highlands Drive-In").

FREEHOLD, Saturday, Aug. 14 noon -5 p.m. Neither heat nor anything else stops Freehold from their annual Old Freehold Day, set for this Saturday at Lake Topanemus Park, and they even make it fun to get there. Fair goers are invited to park on Robertsville rd. and take a hayride in to the park, or park at the Courthouse and ride a free shuttle to get to it. There are lots of free rides for the kids, including pony rides, as well as a petting zoo and lots of games, vendors, demonstrations, food, and contests. There’s music all day with Sawmill Run OTSB on at noon, the Half Brothers at 1, ProGrasstination at 2, and the Eddie Test Band closing out the day at 3:30. You can rend paddleboats as well. Truly a great day of old-fashioned fun on Olde Freehold Day in the borough.

ANY DAY: And for real inside the spotlessly clean and cool theatre viewing, check out the newly re-opened Atlantic Cinemas (plural because there’s more than one cinema in this First Avenue historic site!) for the latest films on the big screens thee. Cal 732-291-4077 to find out what’s on.
