ATL. HIGHLANDS – Former New York Giants Davie Tyree and David Diehl will greet customers and sign autographs at the grand opening ceremonies for the new 7-Eleven Tuesday, June 29 from 1 to 3 p.m.
Mayor Loretta Gluckstein and franchise Chetan Mistry along with other officials will participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony at noon.
The new store, part of the largest chain of stores in the convenience-retailing industry, is located at the intersection of Route 36 and First Avenue at the entrance to the community, and will be open 24 hours a day.
Tyree, who was raised in Montclair and was a wide receiver for the Giants, was also Director of Player Development for the team after retiring from the game. Diehl, from Chicago, was offensive lineman and part of two Super Bowl championship teams for the Giants. He played 11 seasons with the team until his retirement in 2014
The store will also be offering all customers five days of freebies starting on opening day, and will offer a free Big Bite Hot Dog on the first day. . On June 30, a medium coffee will be offered at no cost, on day three, a free medium Slurpee, day four, a free Big Gulp at no cost, and on the fifth day, July 3, the store will be offering a free pizza slice to all customers.
Similar to all 7-Eleven stores, the new business will offer sandwiches delivered daily, hot breakfast items and popular classics . Customers can also earn and redeem points upon checkout via 7Rewards, the 7-Eleven loyalty platform, on various in-store products.
