Vaccine: Fact or Fiction?

The Monmouth County Vocational School District, which covers Hi Tech, MAST, Allied Health, Communications and Bio Tech career academies and the Academy of Law and Public Safety, just put out a five page letter, and in case that isn’t enough a two page addenda. E-mailed or sent to all families of students in the schools the letter and attachments lay out all the rules and regulations for safe living at school during Covid.

An irate parent called to protest the state mandates for his child going back to school. I’m certain all school districts are doing the exact same thing…..it is state mandated…but it seems to me to be a bit of overkill, no pun intended. I keep asking myself, if the vaccination is effective, why do we need masks?

If it isn’t effective, why are we all being told to get it, why is it necessary to wear a mask to go in some places and so many more questions on effective or necessity.

The Monmouth Cunty Vocational School District, which covers Hi Tech, MAST, Allied Health, Communications and Bio Tech career academies and the Academy of Law and Public Safety, just put out a five page letter, and in case that isn’t enough a two page addenda. E-mailed or sent to all families of students in the schools the letter and attachments lay out all the rules and regulations for safe living at school during Covid.

The letter, signed by Dr. Ford, the Superintendent, Sean Meehan, the assistant super, and Dorothy Condon, the head nurse, also included a list of places where vaccinations are available, plus a suggestion for parents to visit a specific site for even more specific rules and regulations for learning during Covid. That missive is another 14 pages long!

What’s more, at least for this district, the letter went out in English, and….are you ready? Spanish? Not in French, not in Latin, not in German, not in any other language that’s taught in any of the schools, but English and Spanish Why Spanish? Is that to give everyday practice to those who take Spanish in high school? If every other person who speaks a different language has to read this in English, why is it necessary to single out one language to send pages and pages of information that harried and irritated parents aren’t going to read thoroughly anyway…in any language.

All this and in addition…teachers and students have to fill out a report on line every morning signing their truth to their responses concerning Covid questions. They say it takes three minutes to fill out and has to be signed by parent/guardian and student. It doesn’t say what happens in the families where the parent might be long gone to work when the student gets up, or works a different shift and isn’t home when a student goes to school, so it’s easy to figure out what a lot of folks will do.

Does any of this make a lot of sense to you?

Below is the five page letter (in English and Spanish) that went out to parents at the Vo Tech schools, but I’m certain it’s very similar to what’s going out to all public schools in New Jersey.
