HIGHLANDS – The state-wide acclaimed three day Annual Clam Fest will kick off Friday, Aug. 6 and continue through Sunday Aug. 8 at Huddy Park, marking the 26th year for this event which features food, music, friendship, games and more.
The annual event, sponsored by the Highlands Business Partnership, features an 80’ food court. It also includes the Highlands Lions Club Funnel Cakes, and the Highlands Fire Department BBQ tent.
Admission and parking are free for the rain or shine event at the intersection of Bay and Waterwitch avenues and along Shore dr.
There will also be a Beer, Wine and Sangria Garden at Waterwitch and Bay Avenues. Big Mark’s Action Park Amusements children’s rides will be along portions of Waterwitch and Bay Avenues which will be closed to street traffic to accommodate the rides, games, children’s activities, as well as specialty vendors, food trucks and the food court.
Friday, August 6, Clamfest hours are 6:00pm. to 11:00PM and will feature Michael Patrick’s, Ring Of Fire tribute to Johnny Cash on stage from 6:00 to 10:00PM.
The Borough of Highlands Recreation Department will have free children’s activities throughout the festival.
On Saturday, August 7, the festival begins at noon, with classic rock favorites performed by Chris Turner and ClearStream; finishing with local favorite Tim McLoone and the Shirleys, from 5:00 to 9:00PM.
The borough will commemorate Clam Fest’s 26th Anniversary with a Fireworks Display on Snug Harbor Beach, proudly sponsored by the Montecalvo family and produced by Serpico Pyrotechnics. Fireworks will begin at 9:30PM.
Clam Fest hours on Sunday, August 8 are noon to 8:00 PM.
IN addition to the festivities throughout the Waterwitch area, , the Highlands Recreation Department will host the Annual Children’s Costume Parade. While Pre-registration is recommended registration will also be taken on site at the Clam Fest. Highlands own, the legendary Carl Gentry will take the stage from 3:30 to7:00PM.
