Doo Wop The Knights of Columbus Reverend Joseph Donnelly Council known for its inexpensive fun-filled nights of music and entertainment is doing it again Saturday, October 24 when it stages the Fabulous 50s Doo-Wop Party at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Gym, Miller Street Highlands
Doors open for check-in at 5:30 p.m.. with dinner served from 6 to 9 p.m.
DJ Dagwood is the featured entertainer and will feature a Just Elvis Tribute Finale along with the classic 1950s dinner-style buffet dinner and dessert table.
Tickets are $35 a person, which includes the dinner and dessert tables, soft beverages, 50s music, dancing, an admission prize and a chance on a flat screen TV which will be awarded that evening. There is also a special discount for those ordering a full table of ten guests.
The Knights of Columbus Council is also offering an opportunity for individuals or businesses to be included in event announcements or sponsored recognition for sponsorships of the event.

As for all Knights events, in keeping with since the Knights encouragement of family gatherings, tickets for children age 12 and under are $15, and infants are always invited at no charge.
Known for their monthly breakfasts which feature everything from French toast and waffles to pastries and fruits as well as special dishes that highlight specific themes for each month, the DooWop Party Blue Plat specials re always a draw for their entertaining events. This year’s party will feature Swedish meatballs, Chicken Pot Pie, Hawaiian Sausage and peppers, along with other favorites and a dessert table with a variety of Cakes, Puddings and Bars While soft drinks are also included in the menu, guests re also invited to bring their own favorite libations for the evening.

Also fondly remembered were Monsignor Michael J. Walsh, also a former pastor and a Director of the high school. Monsignor Walsh died earlier this month; the Committee noted that “as pastor of St. Mary’s and director of Mater Dei, Father Mike strengthened our community of faith through his own steadfast example, nurturing students, supporting faculty and staff and welcoming alumni. He embodied kindness and compassion in all he did. Proud of his Irish heritage and devoted to the Blessed Mother, Father Mike was a long time supporter of this annual Mass and served as its celebrant on several occasion.
