Knight Mike Napolitano was installed as Grand Knight of the Reverend Joseph Donnelly Council of the Knights of Columbus at swearing in ceremonies last Sunday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Highlands. Napolitano succeeds outgoing Grand Knight Ian McGuinness in leading the catholic all men chapter of the international Catholic organization.
Sworn in with Napolitano were Deputy Grand Knight Steven Schwankert, Chancellor Stephen Bagnetto, financial secretary Ron Angelo, Warden Derek Stahl, Recorder John Frunzo, past Grand Knight McGuinness as treasurer, Michael Burke as advocate, and trustees David Convery, Dave Halpin and Tom Snow.
Kevin Connollly was sworn in as lecturer, Scott Rotsma as inside guard and Gregory Kane, outside Guard. Each of the terms is for one year.
Napolitano, who has been a member of this Council since he first joined the Knights of Columbus in 2017, has previously served the active organization in Highlands as Chancellor, Deputy Grand Knight, Grand Knight, Trustee, Program Chairman and Raffle Chairman.
He actively carries out the reasons he became a Knight of Columbus in the first place, explaining “My wife Lili and I wanted to support our Church and community when we moved to Highlands from Bloomfield where I had a very deep record of civic and public service.” In addition to his activities with the third-degree council, Napolitano is also an active member of the Bishop McFaul 4th degree Assembly #64 and runs several fundraising and other events for that Assembly group as well.
Napolitano has issued an invitation to all Catholic men urging them to learn more about the organization and join the Council and participate in all its activities both socially as well as assisting with its purposes to help others.
